Finally....

Finally...I've done with all my task.. Hopefully my gorup member and I manage to get a good results. Amin.. I also want to take this opportunity to say Thank You to Ms Jennifer Voon for your guidance and support. And also thank you to all of my group member for your cooperation eventhough our schedule is packed with PIA assignments and Presentation. I really appeciate it.

At last..

All my tasks on the three cases is completely done! therefore with this, this is the last post that i will be posting for this blog. After this, im going to pass al my work to our group leader, shuza for final compilation. I would like to thanks to Miss J.V. and my friends for helping throughout the assignment. Thank You.

Meeting at Nad's house

Yesterday, we had a meeting at Nad's place after dinner. It was a meeting for our ISM assignment and also a meeting for Shuza's and Nad's PIA group. Absent from our ISM group were Zimah.
We discussed mainly about Case 2 and the report. After the discussion, i gave Shuza my work on Case 1 so that she can proceed. Below are some photos from yesterday.

Given shuza my psd file for her to burn it into one cd including all of our Case 3 individually and also checking the documentation for the Case 3 and hand it right after it to shuza. Im satisfied with the work i've done and let shuza to compile our work.

Finished tasks on Case 2

Today, i've finished doing my tasks on Case 2 after discussing with the other group members about my tasks, i've finalised all the Case 2 work and handed it to shuza before i went off to home. Left for Case 1, im still editing the work now.

Still working on Case 2

No problem, Shuza. I am still working on Case 2 as it takes time to write down an essay. I will complete it as soon as possible. I will also be working on some parts of the report. Hopefully we can complete all the work tomorrow and print out the hard copy on time of due.

Final Post

This is my final post for the assignment. The last thing we are going to do for this assignment is to compile everything into one document. More important is to combine all the information for case 2 to create an essay of 3 pages long, which is the difficult part of compiling since it requires each member to relate their work with one another. I am hoping that all our hard work will pay off.

Lastly, thanks to our ISM lecturer Jennifer Voon for giving this assignment which gives us the opportunity to learn more on collecting useful resource from the internet, to gain knowledge on understanding the code of ethics, and improve our skill through designing using Adobe Photoshop.

2 down, 1 to go....

Finally, the documentation for our PIA is already due and we can finally concentrate fully on our ISM assignment. As of today, i've finished case 1 and case 3. Case 3 definitely took a lot of my time. But it was good experince, in both knowledge and technical terms. As for now, i will concentrate on Case 2 and hope to complete it as soon as possible.

I will send Shuza my case 1 as requested by her and hopefully we can discuss and come up with a solution of question 5.

Finishing Case 3 tasks.

On thursday (20th march 2009), i've finished doing my flower. with the help of my friends i managed to complete all the tasks that are stated in the requirement except for the documentation. and today, i managed to complete the documentation on the flower and my Case 3 is completly complete.

On case 1, im still extracting the information that i search and compile it to be given to our leader.

and on case 2, im still reading all the articles and also the referrences and still trying to understand what the question really want.

RePorT on AdoBe PhotoShop

Today, I managed to reorganizaed back all the steps of "Making Flower and Pretty Text" using AdoBe PhotoShop CS3 to our documentation and also reorganized all the screen that I capture before for report purposes. I decided to capture the screen of every layer/step in editing my flower. So that I can keep the copy and will not forget all the steps.

Time to complete all the works

First I would like to thank our lecturer Jennifer Voon, for being kind on giving us the tutorial time on Wednesday 25^th March 2009 to discuss on our assignment. On the past few days we were quiet packed with schedule, but I had also done my work for this assignment.

There are several things I have to edit on my work for case 1 on task 1 regarding on the hardware components. I have to do some research on the particular hardware. Also, for the case 2 on task 3, I have discussed with the other group members and got some idea. It was hopefully I can manage to write an essay and finish it on Monday. Plus I had also learnt on designing the flower according to the requirement from the question paper, for my individual work case 3 using Photoshop cs3.

Finish My AdoBe PhOtoShop

FinaLLy..I'm DoNe with My AdoBe Photoshop, case 3 Indivdual Task. Next, I'm going to start doing compiling, editing and checking my second task of Case 2, Question 1.

Below are my check list of the task that is require:

This next 6 days will be a long one...

After the ISM tutorial this morning, i just realized that there are only 6 days left until the due date.
Time really flies, this 4 weeks assignment feels like a 2 weeks assignment. With the PIA due on the 28th, there is no doubt that everybody is stressed out.

In these few days, i can see people absent from lectures and tutorials, some came really late, some sleep during lesson, some skip their meals, some staying until 10pm at night and some having 'panda' eyes. There is no doubt that this is the toughest time since we joined ITB. As said earlier, sleepless nights.

Let's all give our best everybody as this is one of the challenges in life. All the best and never give up! =)

Network of GoodWill Hospital

Today i am concentrating on Case 1 the Management System in GoodWill Hospital. I've eard through the passage again and again so that i can see the overview of the situation clearly. Since i am doing on question 4, I will be sketching down the overview of the network on a piece of paper so that i can see it clearly.

The next step is to convert the sketches on the paper into digital form. I will also bare in mind that all the 6 components of Telecommunications must be included in the diagram. I will discuss with my group members before construct the the diagram.

Recently..

Yesterday, I've made some research again concentrated on the Case 1, my part that is number 2. Since I've outlined the software used in the article, I'm finding the features of each software in the internet, and relate it to the article itself to make a point for the assignment. Still doing research on it and saving all the information for my own reading later.

and also yesterday, I've started my Individual tasks, until the C part. I'm stuck there where my text that i type, didn't appear in the text box.

Today, I've asked my friend on how to solve my individual work problem, he show me on how to do it, and I've implemented the steps but still it doesn't work.

Lack of useful information for case 2

For today I was told by Shuza to email the works for part of case 1 and case 2. I haven’t quite sure yet what to discuss regarding on the “mechanisms in place to discipline members violating Code of Ethics”. I did research on it and read all my research but it was not mentioned there.

I have asked one of my friends about this question but I could not understand and figure out the points to discuss as I was confused whether it means discipline taken or how to discipline worker? I will try my best to get the exact source for this question from the internet.

Continue on Case 3 (Part 2)

After i seek for advice from my group members, i found out that there is no need to exactly follow the steps on the assignment leaflet. The leaflet just show rough guidelines and all we need to do is just finish the task in our own way and finally write down our steps.

I have finished doing the editing and all i need to do now is to write down the steps included for my Case 3. Hence my posts regarding Case 3 will end here.

I was informed we will have a group meeting tomorrow afternoon (24-3-09). Hence i will bring all my researched data and ideas to the meeting and hopefully can contribute to the group.

Group work for case 1 and case 2

I was being informed today that we are going to have a meeting tomorrow on Tuesday. During this time I had managed to gather all the information from the research I had made mostly through the internet and some from book. I had also read all the notes regarding on Hardware and Code of Ethics given by our lecturer Jennifer Voon to recall back what she had discuss on the lecture and tutorial class.

From referring to the research, book as well as the notes, I had already done my part for case 1 and case 2 but I am not really sure what I had wrote down will be relevant to what is being told to do. I need to check up with the group members and get more opinions or ideas from them.

So now I am waiting for tomorrow meeting and hopefully we will be able to compile it together all the works and see what we have to edit or add up especially group work for case 2 on the 3 pages essay. 

Continue on Case 3 (Part 1)

I am now picking up where i left off on case 3. After i typed the text, i copy the rainbow strips and tried to use it to cover the text. But the strip only managed to cover one-fifth of the text. I think the font size is too big. I'm having problem understanding part (d) and (e) as they are quiet misleading. Hence i will redo from part (d) and seek for advice from my group members.

My Flower

Today, I am doing case 3, photo editing using Adobe Photoshop software. I transfer the picture that I took in to my LapTop. It took me about 1 hour to understand and do editing part. But, I can only do it until layer 5. I'm having difficulties with the next question of the next layer.

I'll continue doing this assignmnet Tomorrow.

Start my individual work

I am still searching the resources from internet for my part of group works which are case 1 and case 2. It was quite confusing to choose and apply the correct and relevant information. I am looking forward to have a discussion with other group members to make sure what I wrote down was related with what they had wrote.

In the meanwhile today I was able to experience on using the software Photoshop CS3 for our individual work of case 3. The main purpose is to gain some hands-on skills in this software. The requirements for this individual work are to create ten layers from each of the steps given and show the step by step instructions on how to create it. I did manage to do the steps required but I had not been decided to put the flower image I would use for this work.

Working on Case 3

Right now as i post, i'm doing case 3 of the assignment. I've took photo of a beautiful flower and already upload it onto my laptop. I use a tool in Adobe Photoshop to trace the outline of the beautiful flower. After i finish tracing the flower, i applied the flower onto a black background as instructed. After that, i type in my name and my group number on the photo using text tools.

I'm eager to continue but unfortunately i got a call and have to go elsewhere. Hence i'm stopping at part (d) of case 3 and will continue it later. I will update my work soon =)

CASE- 3 ,AdoBe PhotoShop

Today, I took some picture of flowers using my Canon 50D DSLR Camera. The picture is going to be use for our Case 3, Individual Task. In this task, each of us are required to edit the flower and design it using Adobe Photoshop Software. Apart from editing and designing the flower, we need to add text that consist of our name and group number.

Finally, our work must be saved in PSD file format.Therefore, Ms Jennifer Voon(Our Beloved ISM unit lecturer) can view our work in a step by step manner.

I need to brush up my Adobe Photoshop designing and editing skills, because I haven't used it ever since I graduated from MTSSR.

Research time!

Today, early in the morning I've installed the Adobe photoshop software into my own laptop. It is needed to do the individual tasks.

I've just finished reading the article seriously..and focus on my tasks, both on the group work and also the individual work. After reading the articles, i point out what to search and what to do for my reminder. its a list for me to check to make sure I've done all the tasks by the end of the assignment compilation.

Plus, i started to do the research on my points while im typing this posts. Hope to get all the information that i need to do for the tasks.

More and More Research

As I read through all my research for the assigned tasks for both case 1 and case 2 which is a group work, I found out that I have to do more and more research due to lack of useful information for the reference. Although I had done research for all the hardware and its functions I have to be able to make sure all the information is relevant to the scenario and article given.

This week I will focused on getting more idea and extracting extra information. In the meantime I also managed to collect some of the important and relevant facts into one document so that I will not get confused with other things not related to the requirements. 

ACS Code of Ethics Privacy issue.

Finally, after i activated my blogger account on this blog, i can make a post with my name underneath. Thanks Shuza! =D

Today i'm doing my research about privacy in ACS-Code of Ethics. I've done research on many websites and i'm coming to this stage where i need to collect and accumulate all the ideas together to summarise it so that i can use the points and ideas to write an essay regarding it. Of course, we will have a group meeting to share our ideas and points to come up with a magnificent essay.

Reading "Code of Ethics" Articles

The task I did for today is doing research for case 2. The main purpose is to write an essay of 3 pages long. We had been assigned to one question for each member. After finished it will be compiled later to produced one essay. 

I had surf the websites on the articles from the references/resources stated inside the assignment question paper. The article is about Australian Computer Society – Code of Ethics. My main task is to discuss are there any mechanisms to discipline members who violate the “Code of Ethics”. I had note down some points of the possible mechanisms.  

At the moment I am still read through and understand the articles to find some other points for this question.

2nd Group Meeting

Today we had our 2nd group meeting for this assignment. It was held at the Java Lab during our break time and this time, every group members were present. It was a short meeting but resourceful one. The group leader, Shuza, inform me and Zimah that the blog invitation has been sent to our respective e-mail. Shuza also explained to us about how to login and make a post. Other than that, we also discussed about what we should post and what we should not post in the blog regarding the case studies.

Meanwhile, I've started research on Case Study 1, Question 4, about all the Telecommunications components in GoodWill Hospital. My research is quite limited and i'm looking to further continue the research so that i have a solid answer by the end of the day.

I am Nur hazimah also known as Zimah, this is the first post of my entry to our ISM group assignment blog. An Unplanned SAGZ Meeting
